Rafał Krenke

Prof. Krenke heads the Department of the Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases & Allergy, Medical University of Warsaw. He is the Deputy Dean of the First Faculty of Medicine at Medical University of Warsaw and the Regional Consultant in the field of lung diseases.
Prof. Krenke is a member of the European Respiratory Society, Polish Society of Lung Diseases (since 2014 as a Member of the Board), Polish Society of Internal Medicine. His scientific interest concentrates on obstructive pulmonary diseases, pleural disorders and endoscopic techniques used in the diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases. He is a co-author of 80 original papers, 40 review papers, 50 chapters in monographs and books, 109 abstracts, with a total IF 146,549 of full text publications. He is a reviewer in several scientific journals including: Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Respiratory Care, Respiration, Respiratory Medicine, BMC Infectious Diseases, International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, BMC Pulmonary Medicine etc. He led several research grants and also obtained an independent research grant from Pfizer Inc.
Prof. Krenke has held several internships abroad, i.e in the Klinik fur Lüngen und Bronchialerkrankungen, Greifenstein (Germany), Department of Chest Diseases St. Antonius Hospital, Nieuwegein (Netherlands) and Ruhrandklinik, Essen (Germany). He also completed many professional trainings, i.e.: Live Interventional Bronchoscopy in France, airway stenting course in France and bronchoscopy course in Greece organized by the European Respiratory Society.
His achievements have been honored with numerous awards including: The Gold Cross of Merit, the Medal of the National Education Commission, the Medal of Merit for Health Care, and many other awards for his scientific achievements.
